Nassau Bar Crawl, grab your drinking shorts!

Nassau recommendations are one of the most asked questions I see in cruise forums.  I’m forever trying to show how much fun can be had in Nassau, especially when there are so many promoters for “staying on the ship”.  On my most recent visit, I strung together a few of my favorite bars, as well as a new one, and just like that the Cruise Life Matt Nassau Bar Crawl was created.  The great thing about this is it can be self-guided and altered to fit your needs.  If you don’t like pricey excursions and want to do something a little bit more spontaneous, this is definitely for you.  Be sure to pack your drinking shorts and come along for a great day in Nassau!

Stop #1 – Pirate Republic Brewery

We got off the ship around 10:00 am and headed to our first stop which is almost directly across the street from the cruise terminal.  Pirate Republic offers a great selection of locally brewed beers, as well as food.  I still have yet to try their food but I had a friend who visited a week after me and he enjoyed the food he had.  I had a Gold & Haze and hopped on the free WiFi for a bit.

Stop #2 – Fat Tuesdays

The new Fat Tuesdays location is right next door to Pirate Republic.  Their old location was amazing, right on the water near Junkanoo beach, but it moved a couple of years ago to their current location on Woodes Rodgers Walk.  They offer a wide variety of frozen drinks and really makes you feel like you are somewhere tropical.  I went with a Hurricane and was happy with my decision.  Our first two stops only included one drink at each but that would change at stop #3.

Stop #3 – Sharkeez

Considering this was my 24th time in Nassau, it was a bit of a shock that I have not stopped in at Sharkeez before.  It is just a few doors down from Fat Tuesdays and it turned out to be a great option for our stop around lunch time.  We all shared a few appetizers and we all thought the food was good.  For drinks, I went with a couple Bahama Mama’s and a Tito’s & Redbull for an afternoon pick me up.  I’ll definitely be coming back to Sharkeez on future visits.

Stop #4 – Senor Frogs

Not only was I saving the best for last, but it’s also wise to never show up to Senor Frogs sober.  With three previous bar stops, we were in a perfect Senor Frogs state of mind.  I continued with Bahama Mama’s here and probably had three or four of them.  Drinking and dancing games kept everyone entertained for the remaining couple hours of our visit.  I even ran into a complete stranger with the same t-shirt I was wearing, it made my day!  We headed back to the ship around 3:30 pm as all aboard was 4:30.

The great thing about doing a bar crawl like this is that additional places can be added in, or others can be taken out.  You also don’t need to venture too far from the cruise terminal.  Just be sure to get back before all aboard time!  If you are looking to do this bar crawl, you might also want to check out my video walking tour to Junkanoo Beach, as I pass all of these locations during the walk.  Thanks for reading along and I hope to help you have a great time in Nassau.  Please be sure to subscribe in the box to the right (below on mobile devices) to get email notifications of future blog posts.  If you are looking for additional cruise content and discussion, be sure to check out Cruise Life Group.
